Sons of The Father are committed to
traveling on a an expenses plus love offering basis. It
allows us to minister in some areas that can't always afford
groups who travel on a fee basis. This is sometimes
difficult with three families to support but God has always
provided.
We realize that it's not practical to take
a love offering in all venues and, when you decide that's
all that can be done and we feel it is
warranted, will ask a fee.
Because of traveling this way we currently
handle all of our booking ourselves. We ask for $250 plus a
love offering for a concert(of course a revival or several day conference would be different).
Most churches have come to understand the need for this
with rising fuel costs. If your church cannot handle that then perhaps something
can be worked out, it doesn't mean we won't come, finances
are never a determining factor. (Some larger churches/events can afford
$300-$400 for a concert and it would
certainly help supplement the smaller churches that we
go to but will not be demanded.) Please call or email
about revival expenses.
We ask that our situation be explained
during the love offering
so that the people will have an opportunity to see the need
and give. We say that only because many times
someone will just stand and say "now we'll be taking a
love offering for our group, in case you have anything you'd
like to give. Let us pray". This doesn't mean that we're
asking for a long drawn-out speech of begging. This is our
sole source of income and we ask only that the people be
made aware of that. We have to turn down churches
every year because of time and distance constraints.
We ask simply that an effort be made to let people know our
situation so they have an opportunity to give. Many people
do not even realize that we're full-time and that this our
sole source of income. We've had people leaving ask
how much the church paid us to come so they could mention it
to their Pastor or staff.
Some churches like us to set a goal for
them to reach. For three people, each with a family, a
bus payment, and an office payment, Sons of The Father need
$800 per concert just to get by. Again this is simply a goal that
some churches request so they can know what our needs are.
Some churches can do much better and help us to be able to
travel to smaller venues. Other churches can't reach
the goal and that is fine. All we ask is that you try.
WHAT TO DO AFTER BOOKING
FINANCES:
We are a full-time ministry ( i.e. this is our sole
source of income). For accounting purposes, we would
appreciate the check being made payable to LSEA (this stands
for Les Snyder Evangelistic Association, Federal ID number
37-1013282) for the love offering and one for expenses. Cash
is acceptable also. We request that you please not promote
or take another SPECIAL OFFERING in the service that we
minister in. (On one occasion, an offering was taken for a
special project, after which the pastor said, now if you
have anything left, you can give it to these fellows).
MINISTRY TAPES AND MATERIAL:
We request a place in the normal traffic pattern in and
out of the auditorium to display tapes and CD's. We have
only Christian music tapes and CD's by Sons of The Father
and a Southern Gospel Magazine. We do not push the sale of
anything. In fact, if the pastor will mention their
availability, we will not do so. If this is not acceptable,
PLEASE advise BEFORE the event and not when we arrive or as
we're attempting to set it up. It is very helpful if the
table is setup before our arrival.
SOUND:
We use our own equipment. Yours may be better, but ours
is a familiar tool, and we do our best when working with
that which we know.
AUDIO/VIDEO TAPING:
We ask that our portion of the service not
be taped or video-taped. The legal nature of such is beyond
my understanding. Please do not put us in the position of
possibly doing what is illegal and unethical. It would
really help if sound people were notified of this prior to
our concert date.
PRAYER:
Please pray that the Lord will use the
service to Glorify His Name. That people will be open
to hearing the gospel and respond.
ADVERTISING:
If you have a local southern gospel radio
station or show, we've found that it
greatly improves attendance to the concert/event if you have
them play our music
or perhaps buy some advertising spots with them. We have 3
nationally released radio singles that can be found on
Celebration Music Group's Compilations CD's. If a CD is
needed please let us know and we'll get one to the station.
